Biosystems PosiChek3

The PosiChek³ is the only breathing machine that meets the stringent requirements specified by NFPA 1852. Firefighters can only work at peak performance when their equipment works the way it was designed to work. NFPA 1852 mandates that all compliant SCBA must be tested on a calibrated breathing machine before being put into service and at least once per year thereafter.

Just attach a fully-assembled SCBA to the PosiChek³ test-head, and choose the tests you wish to conduct. The Complete SCBA Test provides a comprehensive evaluation of the SCBA as required by NFPA 1852. When a complete test is not required the PosiChek³ "Quick Test" evaluates the operational readiness of most of the components of an SCBA in less than 2 minutes and consumes less than 1% of the SCBA's air supply. Once the tests have been completed, the information can be printed immediately or saved in a user-specified database for future retrieval. The PosiChek³ makes record-keeping easy!

Biosystems introduced the original PosiChek computerized SCBA test-bench in 1988. Today, thousands of fire departments, refineries, chemical plants, and nuclear power stations rely on the PosiChek³ to positively verify that their SCBA are fit for use. In fact, the PosiChek³ is the standard test bench for every major manufacturer of SCBA around the world.

The Enhanced Precision (EP) High Pressure Transducer has been standard issue with every new PosiChek³ sold since March, 2004. The EP transducer was developed to keep pace with new test standards that are being adopted by the SCBA manufacturing community in an effort to improve user safety.  The EP Transducer gives a more precise measurement of pressure within the high-pressure manifold during testing.
At the same time the 'Sound Detection System' (SDS) was also introduced as an option. The SDS includes a microphone and all necessary hardware to eliminate human interaction during the primary audible alarm test.

EP transducer and SDS are available as an upgrade for PosiChek³ that are not equipped with these features.  In order to accept the SDS upgrade, the PosiChek must already have the EP upgrade.
